Obituary

Franklin Keith Kreisher (always known as Keith), 78, died Friday, October 25, 2024 at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, Delaware following a brief but fierce battle with lung cancer.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Suzanne; his daughter Kristine Short (John) of Federalsburg, MD; step-daughter Terri Ozment (Terry) of Littleton, CO; his furry feline daughter Katy; brother Alan (Polly) of Wilmington, DE; brother Michael of Paduka, KY; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was born in Denver, CO to Franklin and Phyllis (Wolfe) Kreisher.  He was a military brat who lived in Colorado, Germany, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.  He graduated from Dover High School in 1963.  Keith was a member of the Civil Air Patrol while in high school and for many years thereafter.  After graduating high school he worked at Leeds Luggage and then International Playtex Corporation.  He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve, serving first in the Smyrna, DE Armory then converting to an Army Reserve Active Duty status.  He was stationed in Fort Meade, MD, Boston, MA, St. Louis, MO, and Fort McPherson, GA rising to the rank of Master Sergeant.  His awards include the Legion of Merit, the Army Reserve Component, Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.  He retired from the military in 2005 and went to work as a civilian for the Army Reserve Command retiring in 2009.

Keith was a devoted husband, loving father, trusted and honest friend, and a very kind person...he was one of the good guys.
