Gene "Pat" Metzler, 82, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Lewes, Delaware, on October 9, 2025, surrounded by love.

Born on July 24, 1943, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Pat was the son of Genevieve and Lawrence Metzler, and grew up alongside his brother Larry and sister Becky.

Pat shared 57 years of marriage with his wife, Linda Donovan Metzler. Together, they raised three daughters: Tammi, Marci, and Tara. His role as a father brought him joy that only deepened with the arrival of his grandchildren.

Affectionately known as "Poppop," Pat cherished every moment spent with his eight grandchildren—Ian, Megan, Ryan, Katie, Cole, Greyson, Trey, and Ava—and one great-grandchild, Cleo. His presence was a source of warmth and wisdom in their lives.
