James Robert
Fuhrman
August 19, 1959 – January 31, 2026
James Robert Fuhrman, 66, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
James, known as "Jim" to friends and family, was born on August 19, 1959, and raised in Chestnut Hill Estates by his father , John Fuhrman, and his loving mother, Joyce Arment. He grew up alongside his four siblings—Chuck, Jeff, Tracy, and Trudy Fuhrman—and attended Christiana High School, Class of 1977. During his high school years, Jim served as president of the FFA and formed lifelong friendships that he treasured deeply.
In 2001, Jim relocated with his family to Houston, Texas, where he joined the family business, Portraits International. There, he became a top-ranking sales manager, known for his work ethic and leadership. In 2024, Jim returned to Delaware, settling in Millsboro to be closer to his daughters and to enjoy time with his beloved grandchildren, Amira and Nikos.
Jim lived life fully and passionately. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, traveling, and putting his whole heart into everything he did. He shared a deep and meaningful relationship with the Lord and was a devoted, God-fearing Christian.
A man large in both life and stature, Jim was a protector of his family and friends. Some may not know that he was also the reigning champion arm-wrestler of New Castle County—a title he held with great pride. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and delighted in making those around him laugh with his eccentric commentary and gregarious personality. His charismatic nature drew people in, and to know Jim was truly to love him.
Jim was a true biker—not by club standards, but by the peace and freedom he found on the open road. He had a deep love for his mother's homemade Italian food and cookies, holiday dinners, his faith, and above all, his family.
Jim is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Danielle McKenzie and Andrew Whitaker of Wilmington, DE, and Shania Morgan and Jesse Morgan of Millsboro, DE; his grandchildren, Amira McKenzie of Wilmington, DE, and Nikos Morgan of Millsboro, DE; and his siblings and their spouses: Chuck and Lauren Fuhrman of League City, TX; Jeff and Grace Fuhrman of Houston, TX; Tracy and Grace Fuhrman of Montgomery, TX; and Trudy Fuhrman of Houston, TX
Jim's legacy of faith, love, and laughter lives on in all who knew him, as he now rests in eternal peace.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." — Psalm 23:1
A celebration of life will be held February 21st, 2026, @12pm at Trap Pond State Park's Baldcypress Nature Center.
