Obituary

Patrick James Visco-Hedge, age 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home September 20, 2025, after a long illness, while receiving hospice care with Accent hospice in Wilmington, DE.  Patrick was born in Brookhaven, New York on July 20, 1964, to parents Francis and Rosemary Hedge, and was the youngest of 12 children.  Patrick moved from New York to Las Vegas, NV in his early 20's where he began a decades long career as a Casino Cage Cashier and Cage Manager, most notably at the Tropicana Hotel and the Mandalay Bay Resort.  Most importantly, Patrick met the one love of his life in Las Vegas in 1992, Joseph Visco, with whom he spent the last 33 years.

As arthritis limited the mobility in his hands, Partick left gaming and became the office manager for Glass Doctor, working with life-long friends.  He then moved to Rehoboth Beach Delaware in 2013 to be closer to extended family.  Throughout his life, Patrick was passionate about crafting, DIY, and making beautiful things.  He made wedding decorations and elaborate veils for dozens of family weddings, and in the last decade painted gorgeous ceramic Santa Claus statues to highlight his love of Christmas and the decorations honoring the season.  Patrick touched the lives of so many people, bringing brightness and joy, love and hope to everyone around him: for that, and many other things, he will be sorely missed.

Patrick is survived by his partner of 33 years, Joseph Visco, brothers Kevin and Bill, sister, Mary, his nephew Timothy (son Anthony), niece Rosemary Stubbolo (preceded in death by Chris Stubbolo), and his son John Paul; and will be dearly missed by his extended family: Mothers-in-law Ruth Visco and Rita Visco.  Brothers-in-law: David & wife Denise Visco (children David, Aaron & wife Jenna, Michael, Nathan), Louis & Yolanda Visco (children Melissa, Gabrielle & husband Nate, and Vinnie Visco).  Sisters-in-law: Ruth Ann & husband Barry Gregg (children Barry and Zachary), Louisa & husband Marcelo Dorado (children Braden and Nicholas), and God-Daughter Katelyn Couturier and her parents Lisabeth & Darren Couturier.

Patrick was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary, his father, Francis, brothers Terry, Michael, John and Bobby, and his sister, Cathy. Viewing and services will be held on October 11, 2025, 3pm at Coffin Cremations 118 Park Avenue, Seaford, Delaware.
