It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Emile Hughes, aged 73, of Seaford, DE. Ronald passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, due to heart failure following a heart attack.

Ronald was born on September 24, 1951, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Felix Hughes and Marjory Crochet. He was a devoted husband to Eileen Hughes (née Lowe), whom he married on December 15, 2001.

A passionate baseball and football fan, Ronald's love for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles was well-known among his family and friends. He was cherished for his humorous, witty, and facetious personality, which brought joy to everyone around him.

Ronald is survived by his loving spouse, Eileen Lowe Hughes, and his children, Theresa Gann, Heather Hughes, and Eric (Melissa) Hughes. He is also survived by his step-children, Kelly O'Donnell and Michael (Susan) O'Donnell, and his grandchildren, Caleb (Sherry), Joshua, Sophia, Alyssa, Cassandra, Rebecca, Allorah, David, and Braden. He leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Greyson Hughes. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Peggy (Jewell) Meyers, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Leonard, and his sisters Sondra and Lynda.

Ronald will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and sports enthusiasm will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
